About this Event

Course Description
In today's complex legal landscape, maintaining ethical client relationships can be particularly challenging when clients face mental health struggles, exhibit difficult behaviors, or when professional boundaries become blurred. This interactive CLE will equip attorneys with practical strategies for navigating these sensitive client relations while upholding their ethical obligations under American Bar Association and Washington State Bar Association guidelines for professional conduct.

Format
The session combines structured learning with collaborative problem-solving in an intimate setting designed to foster meaningful professional connections. Enjoy a thoughtfully curated experience with networking opportunities before and after the formal program.

Through facilitated discussions, interactive exercises, and expert panel insights, participants will:

  • Identify and address common communication challenges that arise in attorney-client relationships
  • Develop practical approaches to establishing and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
  • Learn risk mitigation strategies and protective actions when client relationships become complicated
  • Gain confidence in serving clients who may be experiencing behavioral or mental health challenges

  • 5:00-5:30 PM: Parking/arrival/networking
  • 5:30-5:45 PM: CLE kickoff, intros + brief presentation
  • 5:45-6:00 PM: 15 minute break, time for self-serve food
  • 6:00-6:45 PM: Interactive table exercise, facilitated group discussion
  • 6:45-7:45 PM: Panel Q&A and wrap-up
  • 7:45-8:15 PM: Post-event socializing
